I need somebody to take me step by step through this. I can't use component so that is out. I also have this computer which idk if it could be the problem or not: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dell+-+Inspiron+Desktop+with+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%231...&skuId=9698845

I also have the Ati radeon hd 4650 video card installed. I dont know if those things matter or not but somebody please help!

    Describe your computer specs.

    PCI slot or PCIe slot?

Why can't you use analog component in?

  4. There are lots of problems with the Intensity drivers. A lot of people here have talked about reverting to version 3.4 drivers rather than the latest. If you search this site you'll see the posts.

The BMI Pro is a PCIe card. PCIe is not backward compatible to PCI.

Yep drivers are very bad and very buggy. Media Express has issues as well. Just keep uninstalling and reinstalling while trying different drivers. It'll eventually work that way. But don't EVER give up and say your card is faulty, because that usually never happens with this card and you don't need to go through the mess of sending it in.

You are saying an Intensity PCIe card works in a PCI slot? I don't think so.

  16. Does the fact that I get audio but no video seem weird or is that common? I mean is there no chance that it could be thecable or something?

No I am not saying that. Of course he needs a PCI-e slot but there are so many bugs already with those that have the correct compatible hardware. I actually didn't read he only has a PCI slot instead of PCI-E, is that the case right now?

My stuff wasn't working again, but I realized I left my 360 output to 1080p and I was always left with a black screen (changing it to 720p fixes it obviously), make sure you didn't make the mistake I did.

  21. i downloaded the 3.4, but when i install it says i need a firmware update.... should i skip that part or what?

  22. Just to clarify.... you guys know i am not using a splitter correct?

  24. very new... like 2009. im thinking it has something to do with hdcp... wat can i do if this is the problem?
    Quote Quote
  25. I have figured out that it is an hdcp problem soooo... here is the deal. I only have vga or dvi available on my monitor since hdmi is a no go. Is there some way that I could get a component to vga cable so that I could plug it into my monitor and still record or is that not possible?

Get a component cable for the xbox 360. Than you can still record in high def.

I assume that the intensity has an option to record component input.

That is how I record from my xbox 360 to my hauppauge hd pvr.

  27. since i only have an hdmi port on my monitor could i hook it up with component and use this: http://www.hdtvsupply.com/component-to-hdmi-adapter.html or would that not work?

  28. would i still have the hdcp problem or no?

  29. As long as the xbox 360 will put out a component signal you should be ok with that component to HDMI converter (I wish it explicitly said what input resolutions and frame rates it supported). You can check the xbox 360 by running component from it to the Intensity Pro and seeing of you can capture.

You may get a frame or two of lag on the converter's output though. That would make fast action games a little harder to play.

Note that AACS (the encryption used on Blu-ray discs) rules require that no player manufactured after 2010 be able to output high def analog. After 2013 there will be no analog output allowed at all. I believe all the current players have the ability to disable the component output at any time so it's possible the game manufacturers could use that feature to keep you from recording in the future.
