Check the manufacturers website, there may be some kind of restore utility available.

I have had a bunch of those inexpensive mp3 players, and all the ones I have had have the player software in firmware. I am thinking that the player only knows where to find the music inside one location. Typically the mp3s are placed into a folder labeled MUSIC or MEDIA on the root of the drive. You may want to see if that is he case for yours.
You may also be able to find some info/help at http://forum.s1mp3.org/
Good luck!
