I have a 757MB DivX avi that I want to cut into two files. I've used AviChop for other DivX avi's and it worked fine. But for some reason, for this particular movie, when split with AviChop, it is unplayable. So I decided to try VirtualDub, and I followed the guide on this site.
It should be noted that I did select Direct Stream Copy for both Audio and Video. When I was finished, I did have two files with the correct start and end times. The problem was that in both files, the sound disappeared after about 15 minutes from the start of each file. There was no desynch of audio, just complete silence at a certain point. The original avi did not do this. Each time I attempt to split the avi, this problem occurs.
Can someone tell me why this happens and how to fix it?
