Question about s-video connection of VCR to capture card

Hi everybody, hope somebody can help me with this problem.
I tried to connect my VCR to my tv-card Pinnacle studio-tv rave using a
s-video cable, but it turned out that I got a black and white picture. I don't know why, because I do get colour with composite cable- and ordinary antenna cable-connection.
Although my VCR is a PAL system machine though, I don't know if that has something to say.

Anybody have any hints?

two questions:
Have you ever got color signal out of the VCRs S-video output (with my VCR I can setup this output as Composite Video or S-Video) ?
Is the input of your capture card set correctly ?

I a not sure what I did but, I am plugged into the s-video connector on my Wintv-PVR, I set up a channel for s-video capture on channel 200 and I got black and white from my camcorder.

Just for grins I added a composite in on channel 210 and I can capture in color from channel 210 while using the s-video connection... weird but it works.

I have a similar problem - when I try and capture with my s-video lead, I get no picture, just a black screen with a few flickery bands at the top. Anyone know what's up?
