youtube upload from mobile device help

Hi does anyone have any experience in uploading video files from a mobile device to youtube?

What I want to do is:

1 create averange run of the mill xvid video on my pc.
2 store that video into a phone*
3 upload that video using the phones internet capabilities via it's in-built internet browser to youtube.

*I don't care if the phone can play back the video, I just want to upload it to youtube.

Is this possible?

I understand youtube has the upload from mobile device feature which gives you an email address to send the video to, but I get the impression that most mobile devices only allow this feature for videos taken with the phone itself.

Also any feedback on upload speed, battery life. I'm in the UK, but any feedback from anyone would help I guess anyway.
