help with .avi file

i have this .avi file which got corrupted (bad frames). it was video file which i deleted by accident. i ran testdisk to recover that file but i cannot play that file any more. i tried many recovery software but i am getting same thing.

I downloaded virtualdubmod, divxfix, avirepair etc but none of them are able to repair or fix it. getting bad frame error or unknown .avi file when trying to convert or repair file.


also tried using Tenders V-Dub MP3 Freeze VBR Audio and Bad Frames Guide

but its not recognizing .avi file.

any idea.. video is around 1gb. any other suggestion or tips will be helpful

You can try viewing it in VDMod's Hex editor, but that big of file may be a bit much to handle. But I would look through the contents and if it's mostly zeros, probably nothing to recover. If just the headers are messed up, you might be able to replace them with headers from a similar file, but not likely.

I would say the file is gone. Try running the same program on a known good file and you will see the difference.
