I recently acquired a new MKV to AVI/MP4/etc tool (one that supposedly works well with all MKVs), and have one issue: it's missing a file called "extractmkv.dll." Can anyone help in locating this file? I tried the website, and tried contacting customer service (hence the "More detail" joke). It seems to be vital in its operation.
    MKV: Merely Krappy Video.

Subbers, a request from an avid viewer: Either don't use mkv, or supply avi or mp4 as an alternative.

It might help to know what the tool was, but if you paid for it, I will lay odds you can find something as good, if not better, for free. I have yet to see any commercial converter or video program that works with common download formats such as MKV that is as good as the freeware alternatives.

Aleesoft MKV Converter, and none of the free ones allow for some of the MKVs that this one is supposed to support. It'll even take idx/sub files in the mkv. Also supposed to allow for one-click batch convert.

Format Factory - fickle with MKVs, messes up subtitles (makes them transparent).
VirtualDub - Doesn't support MKVs, mess to convert.
Anything using MENcoder - transparent subs

Xvid4PSP handles subs (including idx/sub), mkv files (in fact pretty much any format) and batch encodes quite happily. I suspect you just got screwed.

Nevermind, finally found it in a download of the pro version.

Some people can't get that the download could be broken

Tried it. It's slow. Took it about a minute just to load the file.
