Does anyone know of a converter that will convert WMVs that have these? I haven't been able to find anything yet (even tried Shark007's Win7 codecs - they actually seemed to make things worse). Using Win7 x64.

    Thanks for any assistance!

  2. did you try any ffmpeg based converters? it's like a swiss army knife . e.g. of front end GUIs: avanti, winff, even super or mediacoder

Yep, tried them all - all failed. Some were able to convert the video, but not the audio. Realized that I only had the KLite 64-bit Pack installed. Going to uninstall that, install the current Mega Pack, and then install the current 64-bit Pack and see what happens.

  8. There is an audio decoder for aceplnet spiro in the k-lite mega pack (not that I'm suggesting someone should install codec packs)

I thought you could just do it in avisynth DirectShowSource("8501.wmv",fps=5) , but it gets the timed duration of the slides incorrect, but audio is correctly processed

Vdub can open it and does the video correctly (with wmv plugin and MSS1 enabled in the ffdshow vfw configuration) , but decodes the audio correct

So I converted the video with vdub, and audio with an .avs script in MeGUI , and combined them in vdub using vdub's "audio from other file"

Personally I would just leave it as is, you will find it much bigger in size an lower quality. Players like smplayer , kmplayer have included codecs and could play it natively without installing codec packs

I installed the Mega & x64 packs and it now plays, but only in WMP. I'd still like to convert it to AVI or MPG for convenience.

Oh, I usually use VDubMod, will the VDub wmv plugin work with that? And where/how do I configure the vfw?
