I am working with some students to create a video project using Movie Maker. They have all filmed their segments on the same tape (mini-camcorder). One student can upload his video and it plays back just fine. Another student will upload her video (from the same tape) and the playback is too fast. She has, however, uploaded other videos before and they have played back just fine. Any ideas/suggestions?
    Thanks.

You mention tape buthen also say upload.

With Tape you capture but if it's a HDD based camcorder then you upload.

Either way it seems with that one particular tape/file there is some corruption and WMM can't read the video file metadata (video file header information which describes codec & format etc).

Try capturing/uploading again... if that doesn't work then you'll need something more powerful than WMM to try to slow down the video or re-encode.

The tape that plays too fast when transferred wasn't recorded in LP mode was it?

It was recorded in LP. But why would it upload just fine on some computers and not on others?
