I've had the same issue in the past as well although mine was to do with my After Effects exports, I think if i remember correctly it was something to do with not having the correct color model assosciated with the footage. It was a long time ago but i'm pretty sure it was this that caused the issues. Other players are able to determine the colorspace whereas VLC couldnt.

  7. works fine in an older version of vlc (I'm using 0.99) , also kmplayer, smplayer etc...

maybe try uninstalling/reinstalling your vlc, or revert to an older build

It plays fine here too in VLC 1.05

Media info under Tools shows MJPEG at 24fps.

The clip is a good example of why 24p is not recommended for hand held.

you are right, that was it.

'open gl' output option plays back the colors correctly.

    strange how default does not.

    thanx!

That is f'cn silly. MJPeg has nothing to do with wmv.

Explain how you showed this as wmv?

Even if you renamed the file wmv, it would still show correctly in VLC.

Even if you renamed the file mov, it would still show correctly in VLC.

Even if you deleted the extension and played it in Windows Media Player, the chair will be blue.

Using a different output device isn't really a fix. It's a workaround. There's probably a bug in your graphics card's driver that only shows up under certain conditions. The real fix is to update the drivers.

never said anything about changing the extension to wmv or to any other extension.
i said that wmp (windows media player) plays it correctly while vlc does not (under default settings).

i just updated the drivers to the graphics card about 3 days ago (cause i had an issue with fullscreen playback in vlc) but the color problem was present before and after driver update (fullscreen issue fixed though)
