Hello everybody. I have noticed that FLVs generated through ffmpegX download as streaming, as they are played after a few seconds buffering. But those FLV cannot be "seeked" or "searched" with the typical progress bar provided with most of players. Also, total time is not detected. Once the file is loaded, some players allow searching but others don't. I have tried with most of the common FLV web players and a simple player build by me. All these options always worked before with other encoders.

    I have found this topic:

    https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/299433-Progressive-FLV

But no answers are given and I think is out of date. Is there any parameter I should set to allow TRUE streaming FLVs? I have tried with all the options of encoder interface but I can't find out...

Have you used flvtool2 to add the metadata, see http://www.ffmpegx.com/download.html#metadata

Hi Baldrick. First, I would like to thank you for such a quick response. As you suggested, I have just installed the flvtool2 and followed the instructions stated here:

    http://www.ffmpegx.com/download.html#metadata

No errors are given and it seems the instalation was ok. But I have just re-encoded a file and problem persists. Is there something I should check? Should I say ffmpegX in some place where flvtool2 is? Should I set some extra-option in ffmpegX interface?

Sorry Baldrick, I have made a mistake exporting my swf player for testing after your suggestions. I have checked with an "official" player and now, things work like a charm. After noticing it, I have exported my player from Flash with the right options (yesterday night I was changing options in FLV component for testing) and now everything is ok.

Thanks Baldrick. Installing flvtool2 did the trick. Nothing else is necessary.
