  1. Hi All

I have done some basic DVD creation before, and have just been offered a small job by a client who have asked for something I'm not sure is possible.

They have a 30 minute movie clip they would like to have running on one side of the screen and on the other some buttons that when clicked reveal a descriptive paragraph and a close button to go back.

When the buttons are clicked they would still like to have the movie clip continuing to play. Is this at all possible do anyone know?

I'm guessing that when a button is clicked the dvd will have to jump to a chapter to reveal the text and this will cause the movie clip to stop and I'll have to starting running it again from the start in that new chapter. Is this correct?

I'm using DVD studio pro if that helps and any advice would be very much appreciated.

    Many Thanks

    A

Under the DVD spec, no. The closest I can think of would be trying to use Button-Over-Video (BOV) to turn subtitles on at certain points, and having the subtitle be a slab of text in the right position. Eventually this subtitle ends, then a button appears when the next subtitle is appropriate. I am just not sure how difficult it would be to program. It seems theoretically possible . . . . . . .
