I have a disc authored, but made a new edit of the main video. I would like to retain all of the existing disc structure (menus, etc) and replace the existing main video with the new version (which is about 3-4 minutes longer). I am not worried about the last chapter stop being off. What would be the best way of doing this? Can I just replace all of the VOBs if there are the same number of them?
Thanks!![]()

Yep, use vobblanker. See http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/guides/VobBlanker/adding_menus/index.htm and scroll down to step 6.

Ok, Baldrick, something's up with the VOBs - as you can see from my connected post ( https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/320687-Changing-Audio-Tags-Chapter-Selections ) things did not go right. The existing VOB set has 22 cells, but the one I am replacing it with apparently only has 1. Is there an easy way to match the Cells for the new video to the existing?
Thanks! -
Yes, make sure and include the chapters list when authoring. You didn't say how you demuxed or how you reauthored. If you demuxed using PGCDemux it gave you a celltimes.txt file with the chapter points. If you reauthored using Muxman you should have loaded that celltimes.txt in File->Import Chapters.

I did neither. The replacement video was from another source (HD) and converted to VOB/DVD format without any chapter stops. The original was done with DVDDecrypter. So I guess I'm kind of lost at this point. Should I demux the original with PGCEdit to get the Celltimes.txt? I thought I was re-authoring with VOBBlanker? I also realized that my VOB count increased - from 5 with the original to 7 with the new video.

Yes, one way would be to get the celltimes.txt from PGCEdit. Are you sure they match the replacing video? Anyway, open the original DVD in PGCEdit and double-click the movie. In the bottom center of the new screen hit 'CellTimes.txt' followed by 'OK' and save what it gives you. Take your assets (audio, video, subs if any) from the replacing video and remux using Muxman, adding in the Celltimes.txt this time. Then do the 'Replace' step using VobBlanker. This is the easiest way to do it. Creating the chapter points without demuxing is too much work, although possible.
