When converting an MKV to VOB for playback on a Blu-Ray player why do I have to transcode DTS? The software says: "If you do not have a DTS sound system you must check"Always transcode to DTS"".
Why, and what exactly does that mean? When I don't select it my Windows 7 PC won't play audio, but when I do check it it does. I thought the audio would be down mixed to whatever my device is capable of playing. Before converting the file the sound works fine. Can anyone explain this to me?
TIA!
