  1. When converting an MKV to VOB for playback on a Blu-Ray player why do I have to transcode DTS? The software says: "If you do not have a DTS sound system you must check"Always transcode to DTS"".

Why, and what exactly does that mean? When I don't select it my Windows 7 PC won't play audio, but when I do check it it does. I thought the audio would be down mixed to whatever my device is capable of playing. Before converting the file the sound works fine. Can anyone explain this to me?

    TIA!

MKV2vob makes special vobs for the ps3. If you just play on windows7 you just need to right decoder to play dts like ac3filter.
