I recently bought the videocamera Canon Legria F21, which has an internal memory that stores the filmclips as mod.files. BUT, the mod.file are not stored in a chronoligical order and are also named in a strange way. Som files, for example, get the names MOV01, MOV02, MOV02 and so on, and suddenly the names MOV01A, MOV01B, MOV01C and so on are used, and I can not see any logical numbering of the files. If I shoot 10 clips in a row, the files can get the names MOV01, MOV02, MOV03, MOV01A, MOV01B, MOV01C, MOV04, MOV05, MOV01D. MOV06.
This means that, when transfering the files to the computer and Adobe Premiere, I do not get the files in a chronoligical order and that I have to figure out the order myself and import file by file. What to do??

Check the camera's menu for a file naming/numbering option. Some Nikon cameras(like mine) stupidly reuse file names over and over unless you tell it otherwise.

There is no such option, unfortunately. Question number 2: The camera is a widescreen (16:9) camera but there is also the recording option "Wind screen" (On/off). What is "Wind screen"?

wind screen - it's asking if you have a wind screen on the microphone or not. one of those foam or fabric covers to reduce noise when filming outside.

Thanks!
And what about the moi-files which "come along" with the mod-files? Are the moi-files of any use when importing the mod-files to, for example, Adobe Premiere for editing? The manual says nothing about this and nothing about the strange numbering of the filmclips. -
just a guess about your cam, but most mod/tod/avchd cams use separate files like those for time/date/index features only the cam can use. i'd keep them as they're usually tiny, and maybe someday editing programs might be able to read/use them. for now they're useless though.

Thanks. Until now I am a little bit confused with this Canon Legria-camera. When I import the modfiles to Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 and let Adobe produce a dvd (VIDEO_TS-file including vobfiles etc), and play the DVD on a dvdplayer, the film on the TV is not "full" widescreen as it is when Adobe produces dvd
based on input files from my Canon HV20-camera and my Flip Ultra HD-camera. The filmscreen is a little bit "narrow" with black stripes to the left and right. This has nothing to do with the chosen TV-screenoption. The film in Adobe is shown as full widescreen.

when you are in elements can you right click on a mod source file and adjust it's properties? you might have to "tell" elements that they are widescreen.

There is no such option when I right click on a mod source file. It is when a new Elemenproject is started, Element wants to know if the input files are widescreenfiles or 4:3 files. I have chosen widescreenfiles as I do when I have such files from my other widescreencameras.
