  1. I've been trying for the longest time to backup my dvd's to a format best suited for streaming to an xbox 360 media extender. Ive used handbrake 100 different ways, and i get really weird hiccups/freezes/pixelations. Ive had good luck with xvid4psp with xvid 1500k and 3000k presets in avi containers. On certain tv show dvd's though, xvid4psp index's every vob into one title instead of individual episodes, so i ended up with one file containing 7 episodes. also batch convert on xvid4psp hasnt been that reliable for me. Every other file that i have queued gives me an mpeg2source not found error.

I then tried loading this file into vdub mod to cut it into individual episodes, but when i saved the files, i had a pretty noticable drop in quality/bitrate. I even loaded the VOB's into vdub mod, encoded them with xvid @ 3000k constant bitrate and got not so great results.

so in short, i need either a new codec, container, encoder software, or overall better method for encoding/editing.

My best reults have been saving the dvd as an ISO, loading it into virtualdrive, and ripping to straight mpeg-2 using click to disk, but the files were pretty big (around 900mb for a 23min video as opposed to 300mb using xvid4psp)

Im streaming over an adhoc network using the 360 wireless g adapter and a linksys dualband n usb adapter.

Encode time isnt really a big issue for me, as long as i can batch convert without the problems ive had with xvid4psp
I have a 2tbHDD, so the end file size isn't a major issue, but i would like to keep the files as small as possible

any advice or software recomendations are highly appreciated, thanks.
