  1. Is there a tool that can take a single .m2ts file and remux it as .mkv?

  3. I used to do as above post but often had sync issues,i now use : https://www.videohelp.com/tools/XviD4PSP
    1.open file
    2.set format ie:mkv
    3:video : copy
    4 :audio : copy
    5:encode
when using copy in settings it dosnt re-encode just remuxes
seem to get better results with xvid4psp ,plus you get loads of other options should you want or need them

I'm not having much luck with this method. It's converting at less than real time(like 20 fps) even though I have both audio and video set to Copy. Something is strange.

Have you tried mkvmergegui (included in mkvtoolnix)? If it can't open the m2ts directly then demux the streams in tsmuxer first and import in mkvmergegui(as smitbred mentions).

  7. Yes Baldrick, the muxing method works fine. I tried the encoder since I was curious about it. I must have pushed the wrong button or set the wrong setting. The tsMuxer demux then mkvmerge remux worked in a few minutes. All I had to do was tell it the proper fps to use when merging.

    HI MATE
dont understand why its running so slow myself,it runs at over 200 fps on my old laptop with above settings. on my main pc it takes about two mins to do it all.
ive even done several full video conversions ,from h264 to mpeg 2 for a friend ,which only took about 45 mins each (on main pc)
hope you have better luck on other projects

  9. I'm not sure what happened. But it was apparent there was more than muxing going on. For what I want to do right now the remux solution is fine. I have a couple of USB 3.0 docks with WD HD stuck in them. Read from one, output to the other. Muxing jobs fly!
