Greetings,

Ive seen a couple movies of a game I play that some people have made. Most of them, or all, have a Geforce card with a tv.out that they put to a vcr to record. then use premiere to edit the movie.

I have a regular Geforce2 w/ no tv out. :(

I was hoping for something that could the read the video out, software wise, and make a movie. But I now think that to be science fiction.

Are there any cards that record directly to the harddrive from the video card? So I can skip the whole VCR part? Just get a bunch of a footage from the game and edit from the HD.

I want a card that gives decent quality and is cheap and preferably doesnt require a vcr. Of course those cards may be too expensive or nonexistant :D

I was looking at the cheap pinnacle and ati tv cards. But I think the tv part may mean I need a vcr todo what I want.

I got 100gb of diskspace and plenty of horsepower and ram. Pretty good skills with ccesp, vdub, tmpge; so as long as its in a decent format I can work with it.

Oh, and looking at the list, most cards are winxp? ... I use winxp, im hoping that many cards dont have conflicts with it :-?

All I care about is how the card handles video, since I wont require it to worry about audio (at least how I ideally want to use it)

Any cheap cards out there do what I want? Are there any cards that do do that?

If not, of the cheap cards that I put to a vcr, which do you recommend?

Appreciate your time
