  1. How can we check video and audio bitrate for source DVD from Amazon before ripping for personal backup?

    MediaInfo, tree view. You may have to check a couple of VOBS, but they are usually all the same bitrates.

  3. DVD Bit Rate Viewer tells you the total audio plus video (plus subs and muxing overhead) bitrate with the DVD in the DVD-ROM. I get the audio bitrate by playing the DVD using PowerDVD with the OSD on.

    What exactly does "from Amazon" have to do with bitrates? Is there some reason that you think that Amazon DVDs are different from those you could buy in stores like Best Buy?

    What exactly does "from Amazon" means could be any Amazon, Best Buy, Kmart, Wall Mart, HMV or any genuine source.
