    Hi!

I tried today to create AVCHD disc using tsMuxer and it worked, kind of. I got green bar at the bottom of the screen, and the resolution wasn't the one the source file was using. The program didn't also include the subtitle track I tried to use (srt file), it only used the embedded one from the source file. I'm using PS3 by the way. Then I read, that the AVCHD disc supports only specific resolutions, and if you use non-supported resolutions, the green bar will be there on the screen. Apparently I should try to mux the file to M2TS which doesn't have the resolution problem. But what I would really like to know, is that does M2TS support any kind of subtitles or not?? I've been trying to google and frankly, I haven't gotten any straight answers.

If it supports subtitles, could somebody guide me on how to have subtitles with M2TS file?

I have a PS3 and if the subs are in SRT then it should work despite the resolution but it seems to "depend"

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I've had some non standard resolutions that work and some that do not. Why it sometimes works vs other times ... I don't know. Maybe the "odd" resolution works as long as it is mod 16 or something like that (I'm just guessing).

I know it's a PITA but normally I use XVID4PSP to re-encode and burn in the subtitles (you can also pad the image out to a standard 720p or 1080p resolution). After re-encoding I then make a MP4 if the audio is AAC or a M2TS if the audio is AC-3 (and if it is DTS then I convert to 640kbps AC-3 since I only have a stereo receiver and no way to decode the DTS to two channels).

XVID4PSP will accept a MKV but you will have to extract the SRT subs and add them separately.
