People on Amazon have compared them to Sony's, but
    are they just CMC junk?

Don't know. But can you not afford to pay less than $3 extra and just get Taiyo Yuden which you know is high quality media instead of rolling the dice that maybe MCC instead of CMC makes those Amazon discs? See

    For god sakes man!!!!!!

What is with you trying to save a couple of $$ on dvd media lately ?!?!
    Especially the DL.

Officemax has Verbatims on sale for $24.99 a 100 pack, Newegg $19.99 for a 100 pack with $1.99 shipping!!

I'm just wondering is all, because i know i would never even consider wasting my time to save $3.00 on a gamble like that.

  4. From an Amazon purchaser of these discs, back in Oct 09 (who knows who makes them now?):

"ImgBurn reports these as UME02 discs."

totally agree..they had free shipping yesterday or the day before on these. Miles better than the amazon junk. Even the newer verbatim "value series" are better than these amazon discs, and their CMC AM3's

    @ Noah: LOL!!
hey it's a recession hadn't you heard...brother's gotta save a few pennies whenever he can.

    lol!

If nothing else, in all seriousness, I am a smart shopper.

I had already placed my order for 100pk of Verbatim DVD-rs ( having had bad luck with their DVD+R)
from Newegg for $19.99, and got their 20 pk of Verbatim DLs for $23...this just happened to pop up
in my "Amazon Reccomends" box today, and thought I'd ask....

I don't know if it was because I switched burners ( my Pioneer -117d bit it in January, so I replaced it
with a Samsung SSH-22 ) or if that DVD+R was a bad batch ( not MIT verbatim, it was MIS i believe),
but i ended up getting coasters 1 out of every 3 in the 100 pk. After the 12th burn, I packed them up
and exchanged them for DVD-Rs. The Samsung is happy with those, and I only switch off to Verbatim's
when TYs are over $30 for a 100, or Supermediastore doesn't have pity on me and send me a 15%
    off coupon in email.
