    What is playing fine?

What country are you in? Never heard of an HVR-3300-HD here. It seems to be a UK card.

We are on a different system here. I can't help with DVB-S satellite.

    Maybe others can.

  7. You mean the files you capture with WinTV7 play fine in WMP but files captured with other software doesn't? If that's the case it may be simply a matter of getting the right file reader/splitter. What are the file types? MPG? TS? M2TS? Something else? Post short samples.

  8. thanks for the reply

i am not capturing any file my requirement is to just play the live satellite channel in media player classic using hauppauge card which i mentioned above. as i want to play the same live satellite channel in digital signage software which is xpresenter player and as if media player classic can play this software also plays the same.

but hauppauge card feed plays only in wintv software only.

please update me if you can figure out this prob.

im not exactly sure if i understand u all the way, are u wanting dvb software?... try dvbviewer, sichbo pvr, gbpvr, altdvb, or some of the other freeware dvrs... they directly play sat signals & as a bonus they also record in ts format which can be viewed thru mpc or vlc

please understand me i dont want to record or capture any satellite channel.
my purpose is solely playing satellite channel in media player classic using hauppauge hvr-3300 card

to extend it i dont want to record and play
rather i want to play directly satellite channel in mpc

The issue is the same. Basically, hardware MPEG 2 encoder capture cards have limited support. About the only software that works with them is the software that comes with them and some of the PVR packages like those that have been mentioned.

What you might be able to do is create a capture graph that routes the capture filters preview pins to the video output, use and AviSynth script to open that graph, then use MPC to open the AviSynth script (I've done this with analog caps, but not digital caps). The problem with this scenario is that you won't have audio -- since AviSynth will only open the video from the capture graph. I don't think you can open two capture graphs at the same time because only one program can use the device at a time.

Media Player Classic cannot be used for what you want to do. From what I have seen, Media Player Classic can usually only use analog capture devices as a video source. It was not designed to be able to use every kind of tuner as a video source. Only certain ones are supported, and yours does not seem to be one of them. Media Player Classic will not be able to play streams from your DVB-S tuner card unless they are first captured to a file.

You will need to use different software if your want to play transport streams directly from a DVB-S card. As far as I know, PVR software with DVB-S support or VLC are your only choices.

Most PVR software will only create a temporary file as a buffer to use when pausing, rewinding, and fast-forwarding when used for watching live TV.

VLC looks like it can work with DVB-S tuners using "DVB DirectShow" as the capture mode. Beyond that, I do not know how to set up a DVB-S tuner in VLC. I also do not know if it is possible to use VLC with a DVB-S card without creating a temporary file to use as a buffer. I have used VLC enough to say that those who are new to using VLC will not find it easy to set up for watching live TV.

ok, dvbdream allows mpc & vlc to play as a plugin instead of watching thru their default screen... in other words u can watch sat thru mpc or vlc directly... wheather ur card is supported in that app is another story tho

"playing" is the wrong term, you want to stream the content to play it back with another tool.

But I see no logic in that....

the logic in that would be to view the stream across multiple computers in a network... anything on the same transponder is viewable like this
