hi iam still fairly new to downloading and iam having a problem with a file iam trying to convert to watch on my dvd player.
The file is 720p bluray x264 and i used convertx2dvd using a dvd + r disc and tried this in my dvd player in which the picture was very good but no audio.
The file on pc has audio so iam a bit confused any help would be appriciated.

The program displays all the streams it finds in a file. Does the audio stream show in the Convertx2dvd screen after you load the file? If it doesn't then it's in a format the program doesn't recognize.

ok ive added the file again but unsure where i should be looking for audio stream but i did go into settings in convertx2dvd and then audio the default language was unspecified so changed that to english en and also audio was set to low so changed this by checking audio boost and moved slide up 3/4 to near very loud.
should i now try and convert file again as would this solve the problem.

After you load the file it shows one title set, click on the + sign and it expands to show the streams, there should be an Audio entry, click the + sign and it will show the audio streams. If there's no audio entry or no + sign then it doesn't find any audio streams.

I would first go into Convertx2dvd setup and change the audio output to 5.1 AC3,then try to convert to dvd again. If you leave it DTS you might not get audio on some setups.

go to settings...audio and there should be a box to tick that says.."convert dts to ac3...check that box and you should be good to go...if its not under the audio tab its under one of them...i've used it before...it works pretty good

I think Moontrash may have put up the wrong tab. How about this one:

If you don't see it there, what version of ConvertX are you using? This shot is from ConvertX 3 V3.3.4.106

EDIT: Also, when you end up with a file that doesn't seem to have audio (Or video), drop it into MediaInfo, Tree view, and it will tell you most times if you have audio and video and what formats they are.

panic buy - instead wasting your time doing this kind of conversion, and I am making the risky (for here) assumption that you may actually care about wasting your time, you could just buy a media player such as the Western Digital HD TV Live or something similar and NOT have to convert anything. Even if you have a standard definition TV, these players are capable of supporting that. If you have an HDTV, so much the better.
