Why make a VCD if your DVD player will play MPEG Files? I would think it would be a great waste if time to make a VCD from a MPEG if your DVD player will play mpeg files?

You can store more video/CD if you burn in vcd or svcd mode, near 740 MB on a 74 min cd....and if you change player some day you may wanna play the vcd.

  6. i'd love to be able to do both on one cd. y'know, have it as a vcd, and store the original file as well. i have a apex 1500 so it might work, if i can figure out a way to get a 432 meg file onto a cd with it's vcd counterpart

mikestadnyk: it is very easy with nero, just make a vcd as usual and then drag the mpg video to any folder or the root folder or make a new folder(not the tracks list window) and it will burnt as ordinay data and the other video as vcd on the same disc.

YEA! I used Widows XP and just Drag and droped it. No speical softawre.
everything in default setings. The DVD player is calling it a VCD then pulls up a menu with the list of files but is a just normal mpeg file.

  11. baldrick: u said i could burn both the original file and the movie as vcd format. but i can't do that cuz the original file is 432 meg. unless i misunderstood u, i don't think it's possible. the movie is 40 mins long, in case you wanted to know.
