I'm running windows 7 on my laptop and my media card reader has gone missing from device manager and my computer. I've tried system restore as well as driver reinstall but that didn't help. I was going to do a bios flash but it gave me an error code so I'm waiting for support to reply with the meaning of the error code. I checked in the bios and there wasn't anything related to the media card reader. Its the Acer Aspire 6930.
EDIT: Ok maybe it is listed in device manager, I see something under usb controllers called realtek usb 2.0 card reader, is that it? Before I checked under disk drives since thats where it was located under vista.

How does this Media Card Reader connect? Is it internal, USB, ExpressCard?
Often these don't show up in device manager or Explorer until a formatted card is inserted.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
