    Hello,

    I just bought this the Pioneer DVD burner and on the box it says
    it burnes DVD-R's at 2x but in Nero v5.5.7.8 it only lets me burn
    at 1x I am using TDK DVD-R's Could it be the media's fault?
    Other than that one problem it has burned every DVD so far with
    no errors Can anyone recommend a good black media
    brand?

    You need to upgrade your firmware to 1.68 to enable 2 speed burning with TDK DVDR.
    Other 2 speed registered media are Verbatim, Apple, Pioneer & Mitsui

    Hello,

    Hmmm did as you said and updated firmware to the latest version. Rebooted and ran nero again but it still will only let me burn at x1 speed.

    Sigh...
