I would like to convert AVCHD files from my panasonic HD camcorder to MPEG4 so I can edit them on a MAC. The camcorder writes the video to *.MTS files on SD disk. Can I use ffmpegx for the conversion to MPEG4? I didn't see an option to select ether *.MTS or AVCHD.

I don't think so. Try instead VoltaicHD.

Never tried it, but I doubt it. You could try and see if the input file is recognized.

The way ffmpegX works is that you select the output format, not the input format.
