  1. Hi,

I'm new to dvd authoring and I want to create a backup copy of my japanese dvd where I edit some of the scenes with onscreen texts and translate the japanese text to my mother language.
Then I would reburn the movie back to another dvd, but I wanted to add both languages as two angles, so the viewer could choose his/her angle (japanese / hungarian) for onscreen texts.

But i'm stucked, i could only "afford" a freeware* software but I couldn't find any what lists *adding* multiangles on its feature list. If you know any method, please let me know!
    Thanks in advance!

*: sorry, but Scenarist / Maestro / dvdlabpro2 is not an option for me I'm too poor...
p.s.: i've heard that it would maybe not complately impossible to do this with ifoedit. Anyone managed to do it?

You would have to encode the different angles with identical settings, and with bitrates below around 7500 kbps, then re-author the disc. I have only done with with DVDLab Pro, so I can't help you with a free solution. That said, what you are describing is probably done more easily with subtitles/sub-pictures, rather than angles.

  3. i see, thank you for your answer! I didn't want subtitles becouse i want to position the new text in the "right" position (above the "old" text). If this could done with sub-pictrues or subtitle, then they will be better, of course! Now if I only knew if they can be positioned or not... (research needed)

  4. Subtitles can be placed just about anywhere on the screen.
