I d/l and used 'Any video converter free version' after finding it on the tool sectipon of this site. It works great at converting but I have noticed it seems to encode everything in 4:3 aspect ration, can I set it to 16:9?? All the profiles (i.e. 720x576) dont have an option for a widescreen version and as such it is distorting my video files.
Can it be done? Media coder used to work great but I have been having issues with it lately and tried this software which if I can sort this will be my new fav.
Thanks for any help.

If not you can adjust aspect ratio in other software like mpeg4modifier for avi and if dvd IfoAR2WS.

Great link thanks, didnt think that was possible without a reencode, I assumed aspect ration was set in the encode and could only be changed via hardware (tv/dvd etc) stretch type features. Will give it a try.
