I am looking to buy a new Blu Ray player with a budget of about £250. I currently have a BMP-BD35 Panasonic that is a bit finicky with BD-R25 discs.

I want it to be capable of playing DivX and if possible .mkv files.

What is the best one to get?

The Philips BDP5100/12 is DivX Plus HD certified, meaning DivX/AVI and H.264/MKV:

Not sure what the availability is yet, because I'm in the US and they don't sell them here yet.

Well I have received my BD390 and I am very impressed..to a degree. How can I play Blu Ray and DVD discs/folders on it? I get an audio codec error on it when playing back dvds on my harddrive and cannot play blu rays at all on it through my hard drive. Also there should be an update that will give me VUDU goes live on the LG BD390. This hasn't happened and it says I am upto date.

There is 189 pages of posts there. If you know what I can do without spending the next month reading all the pages, that would be great.
