cannot open m2TS with vitrualdub

i can play this viedo but i can't open it with vitrualdub
even cannot open with more than 4 different conventers
how can i solve this problem?

What 4 converters ?
Where did the file come from ?
Have you tried AVI Demux ?
What about using a short avisynth script and then opening that in virtualdub ?

Xvid4PSP, MeGUI or Handbrake should be able to convert that file without any problems, assuming it isn't corrupt in some way.

If you want to try avisynth, download and install it. Then create a text file and change the extension from .txt to .avs
Open the file in notepad, and type

DirectShowSource("fullpathtofile/filename.m2ts")

Open this file in virtualdub instead of the video.

You haven't filled in your computer specs, but HD needs a fair bit of grunt to play back smoothly. Also, for editing, playback speed isn't that much of an issue.
