  1. I installed TSSniper, a H264 editor for transportstreams.

It required the latest Haali Splitter and FDDShow. So, I went to their websites, picked up the latest versions and installed them, without success.

Now, I run Win7 x64, and, like java, I sometimes need to install both 32 as 64 bit versions, so, I did so with FDDshow (there's no 64bit Haali) but TSSniper did not work either.

Then, I dug in my wallet and bought CoreAVC since I heard a lot of good stuff about it, relating low CPU powerusage etc.
Started up TSSniper again... no luck

No matter which Directshow option I pick, (h264 decoder (fddshow, coreavc) , or mpeg decoder (fddshow, coreavc) , or splitter (haali) the program keeps coming back with

" DirectShow problem - failure while trying to render filtergraph "

It's driving me insane, because I really want to use this program.

Maybe you have an idea how to solve this?

  2. I'd advise not using an x64 build of ffdshow. Experiment, if you must, after you have a configuration that you know works.

I've used tsSniper with success using ffdshow v.3133 and 3326. As to Haali, v.1942 works for me. Haali versions I suspect are less critical to the program. But some ffdshow versions I'm convinced won't play well with the program. Keep in mind tsSniper is beta and has never been updated (too bad), so it's touchy.

I found that changing the preferred splitter from "Automatic" to "Haali AR" helps with the program's stability. But since I'm on XP and you have Win7, dunno if all that will help.

Also, given your computer specs (close to mine), do not push the program too hard or it will crash trying to seek. That is, if you jump along the timeline, give it ~3 seconds to settle down before doing another jump.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

  3. Thanks. I'll give it a shot by removing the x64 fddshow and see what I can get..

Thanks also for mentioning which versions you used, that you know of that worked.

I'll post here what the outcome will be.

  4. Unfortunately, did not work on my end. I hope there are other solutions available.

As before, it boots up but cant seem to load any .ts file I try to load in it.

Still gives me the same filtergraph error, no matter if I set the splitter as described above, nor the h264 deocoder to eg. fddshow, coreavc, etc.

  5. Handy utility, didn't know about this one either. Will try various options to see if I can get it working.

Already tried some, but so far, no luck... yet.

If you use it, along with TSSniper, which settings do you use?

  7. me too!

I got the same message: " DirectShow problem - failure while trying to render filtergraph "

    Does anybody fix the problem?

  8. Keep in mind that 32 bit and 64 bit programs and codecs don't mix in 64 bit Windows. 32 bit programs need 32 bit codecs, 64 bit programs need 64 bit codecs. Many 32 bit codecs don't install correctly in 64 bit Windows. You may need to do something like this:

That said, I don't have any problems running TsSniper under Win7 64 bit. I'm pretty sure ffdshow and Haali installed "normally". Since TsSniper is a 32 bit program (at least, the one I'm using is) you need 32 bit codecs. Be sure ffdshow has the codecs you need enabled in it's DirectShow section.

  9. I have Windows 7 32 bit (x86) and i installed ffdshow 32 bit (x86)...

  10. oh, that was easy. I had never heard about Haali Media Splitter before, but in this thread you talked about it. So, i just installed it an now TSSniper works.

    Fine!
    Thankx

  11. I got a problem.

After cutting with TSSniper, I have no Sound in the movie. The Video is okay, but where's the sound?

Do I have to change something in the settings here:

What type of audio did your source have? And do you hear the audio when you play the source?

  13. Here's a screenshot after loading the source file

I hear the sound when I play the source file. I hear the sound when I play it in TSSniper or for example in VLC Media Player.

  14. Did you leave all four audio tracks ticked in TsSniper? What does MediaInfo say about the final file? Does it show any audio streams?

Maybe you need an AC3 decoder.

  15. Here's a screenshot from VLC Media Player "Media Info".

It shows all Audiostreams... but I don't here them.

Haali Media is installed, ffdshow is installed. Both with newest Version.

  16. In VLC try using Audio -> Audio Track ->... to switch tracks. Do you get sound with any of the four tracks?

  17. nope... that doesn't work. No sound.

  18. Try another player?

  21. hm...

I found out, Windows Media Player Classic plays the file with file with video and sound.

    Thats weird!
After recording a movie with my satellite receiver, VLC plays it without problems. But, when I cut the file with TSSniper, VLC Player just play the video, not the sound. But Windows Media Player Classic plays the file without problems. What changes TSSniper in the file that VLC Media Player has the problem. Or otherwise, what does Windows Media Player Classic different that it plays the file without problems?

I don't know. VLC has no problems playing files cut/remuxed by TsSniper on my systems.

  23. Yeah! I did it!

Ok, the receiver records a movie in many files with a disc space about 1 gig.

    1. Join the files with TSSplitter: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/TSSplitter
    2. Cut the movie with TSSniper: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/TSSniper
    3. Demux the cutted file with tsMuxeR: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/tsMuxeR
    4. Join the audio- and videostream with MKVtoolnix: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/MKVtoolnix

now you have a movie in a small mkv file with hd quality!

  24. Now I use Win 7 64 bit and I got the same problem again. But I fixed it by installing AV Splitter (but that doesn't work so good) and then installing LAV Filters (that work's better but not so good I want to) and after installing these two programms I set Haali Media Splitter (AR) again in TSSniper... and now it works
