    HI,

A couple of years ago I had a program free I think, which tested a disk and told what make it is etc. My box crashed 10 times and I have lost it and even forgot trhe name. Any ideas??

I need to see whether my DVD burn was burnt as NTSC not PAL. I am in a PAL region and want the disks to be NTSC for US.

    Thanks

If it's not a retail disc, you can always run the VOB files through a utility like GSpot or MediaInfo, and the resolution should hint at whether or not the VOB is encoded in NTSC or PAL (see What Is: DVD at the top left for a list of the resolutions).

As for the DVD media ID, I'm not sure how many programs list it. I usually just check it in Imgburn.

  3. Yeah, ImgBurn will tell you the M.I.D.

DVDinfoPro is another one. IIRC, Nero CD/DVD Speed (or whatever they're calling it now) can as well.

Probably was dvdinfopro. If I remember correctly it used to be freeware, but now it is trialware for $30
