Well just as the topic says, why is that? My measures says it's about twice as fast on the winxp 32bit system compared to the win7 x64, that's not right I think. I could go with the x64 version I guess, but that won't work because I have plugins that's only available in 32bit. It's just weird to me why there is such a huge difference?

Wouldn't it actually mean that your encoders you are using are slower Windows7 than on XP?

Well it's true, could be the decoder or the encoder being slow, I have no idea which it may be, I just find it weird with such a huge difference between the systems. As a side note virtualdub x64 seems to be much speedier even on windows 7. Maybe it lies somewhere in the 32bit emulation in the 64bit os, but I've never ever heard of a 50% decrease in performance for any activity, it's usually in the lines of a few % at most. I'd love to hear a good explanation to why this is if anyone has a clue.
