  1. Hello,

When i try to edit an mpeg2 file ( .mpg ) with Tmpgenc Merge & Cut option i have a BIG problem.

I put the selected file in the list and then i edit it, here is an exemple.

The file is 50 minutes long but i must cut the last five minutes.
So i put the end at 45:00,00 and the push the Run button.
After, when i watch the file with any program, the sequence is cut
about 10-15 seconds before the end point. So it is like i put 44:45,00
at the end point in Tmpgenc.

My configuration is P4 with 2 ghz and 512mb ram. I've tried on Pentium athlon 1ghz and had the same problem.

The most incredible thing is that the two or three first times, it has worked fine and after, i had a crash disk and had to reformat and reinstall and it started to mess.

    Any ideas or help ?

    Thanks

  2. Hello,

I've posted here a message about Tmpgenc tools and cutting function. When i choose an end point with the trigger at 15:40,00 minutes, the result is a movie clip cut at 15:20,00 by exemple.

I've made more tries yesterday and it seems that if i let the picture go on to the place i want to put the end point ( same picture as the last exemple ), it's not at 15:40,00 anymore but at 16:00,00. But if i move the time end selector of one second, it go to 16:20,00 picture ...

I try to make the cut on a PAL mpeg2 25 fps file. Does the tools and editing window works on 25 fps or 29.97 fps ? It could be the reason of my problems ?

Please help me, it drives me crazy !!!!

  3. I have an almost identical problem.

View my problem in the forum (one page back or so) with the heading
"TMPGEnc - NTSC file with 20 seconds of film & no sound!!???" or follow this link http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=82370.

In short, PAL works fine. If I have a PAL source and I convert it to a PAL MPeg then cut it - no problems.

Anything NTSC, I get extra footage - always happens.

If I can't resolve the issue then I will try to find a way of converting my NTSC source to PAL then encoding to a PAL MPeg to overcome the problem. OR I may encode the NTSC source to an NTSC MPeg then convert the resulting NTSC MPeg to a PAL MPeg.

I know I have not helped, but I just wanted you to know that the problem is not your PC or installation.
