I have a not so computer savvy friend who has to convert stuff from his Sony SR12 to DVD. He just needs to do very basic things and probably no editing at all, just straight conversion.
What software will do this all-in-one with the fewest steps?

Maybe ConvertXtoDVD, open the m2ts and convert.

His Sony SR12 probably came with Sony's "Picture Media Browser" program which will do the conversion and burn a DVD all by itself, with no other software needed. Barring that, I concur that ConvertXtoDVD is the easiest alternative.

Sony has a direct DVD writer that I use.... No computer and depending on the cable used will write from SVHD to AVCHD
