I have been using DVD shrink to put my DVD's to my hard drive using ISO file with no compression. I am playing these wtih my WDTV live. Is there a way to make sure that they are fullscreen and not cropped? Some copy fine at fullscreen but most have black bars on the right and left side. What software should I use to convert to full screen? Or is there such thing?

Shrink doesn't do anything to the shape or size of the image. It won't crop it or add black bars or anything else like that. Check your player and whatever settings it has.

Well my VLC player on my pc has a 16:9 scale setting and that works great but my WDTV live only has zoom scale and it still has some black bars on my Plasma. May have to us ethe TV settings. I hate to do this becuase you have to remeber to set it back to normal. Just thoght threr was something that would scale it to 16:9. Yes most of the DVD mosies seasm to be 4:3 and I watch with 16:0 Plasma. But not all my standard DVD's have this problem some are full screen 16:9.

You could just watch the movie as it was shot - and ignore the bars entirely. Has worked well for me for many years. Personally, I think if you are noticing the bars, you aren't watching the movie.
I have been watching widescreen movies on a 4:3 TV, and 4:3 movies on a widescreen TV. I never use the zoom, and I have never, ever seen any black bars.Read my blog here.

How did you watch widescreen movies on your old 4:3 TV set? Did you zoom those to get rid of the black bars above and below? This is a non-issue. It never occurred to me this was the problem when I read your opening post. Leave it to the guns1inger to ferret out the real reason behind the post.
. This is what tripped me up:
Whatever gave you the absurd idea DVDShrink was cropping native 4:3 movies?
