  1. Mistake - that was not the raw MTS because I couldn't get the file size small enough. It's the deinterlaced version from the avs above except using:
    YadifMod(order=1,mode=0, edeint=NNEDI2(field=1))
    #TempGaussMC_beta1()

  2. It plays fine for me in MPC, KMplayer, WMP , audio & video

    I think you should try using "microsoft AVI" , under video codec select "none" , just like you did with the other thread (i.e. not "uncompressed microsoft AVI" preset)

    Was your audio 16-bit to begin with? If so , keep it 16-bit

    If you open that file in avisynth and use info() does it report audio? It does for me. It might be that your system codecs/splitters/filters aren't set up properly

    If you render that file in graphstudio, do the boxes connect?

  3. Man, how do you learn all this stuff? I wonder why it worked for you and not me.
    I did as you suggested and it looks and sounds fine now.
    Something about the 'Uncompressed Microsoft AVI' I guess.

    I've got a meeting but as soon as I can I'll see if I can recreate the final vid that I'm after.
    I'll post it when it's done. Maybe now I can start teaching guitar

    Thanks yet again

  4. I learn from making mistakes and learning from them. Like you, I ask questions like how come this sucks when I do so-and-so , and there are bright folks here and at doom9 forums that usually have good answers

    Maybe I can learn playing the guitar one day

    Its nice to see it all came together for you.

    No doubt you'll have more issues with your video work and the best way to learn is to have these issues and get through them with the help of other people as poisondeathray said. You wont come across a problem that nobody else has experienced before so just keep asking and you'll get through it. You'll find that sooner than you know it you'll find it much easier troubleshooting your own problems! Keep us updated on the video, it's looking sharp (even if a little small resolution for my personal taste) !
