Hello all. I am in urgent need of a C++ developer specializing in MPEG (H.264) encoding (not decoding) in both Windows and Linux platforms. This is a full-time permanent job and is located in Mississauga.

Please note that at this point we will only consider candidates that are presently in the Greater Toronto Area or within driving distance and willing to relocate within 2 weeks notice at your own expense.

Please email me your resume at belangerj (at) talgroup (dot) net if you think you fit the bill.

    Regards,
    JS

I'm wondering why there is a need to program an MPEG encoder when there are so many utilities out there that already do it. Most of the "custom" encoding programs are simply front-ends for tried and true encoders. Unless your need is very VERY specialized then you might be able reduce the resources needed to get what you need. And saving money is good! But again, I know that I don't know exactly what the end result is that you are looking for.

Well my client is a software shop that does scalable adaptive streaming for mobile carriers and internet providers. Unfortunately, this is not just a matter of saying "I want to encode this video into a certain format". The end product is a complete solution for the carriers and providers to deliver platform specific streamed content.
