    Please excuse the Very newby ?? But I have looked for an answer to my query in the posts and either it's not there or I have overlooked it.

    Im VERY new to TMPGEnc (like 3 files I have converted), the first 2 went great, the last 2 I tried to convert from AVi to MPEG-1, after being burned to VCD have good sound, and play OK on the computer, but palying on my DVD player look like a funky chess board. blocks of giberish video. like the sync is all wrong. I have tried to repair it using the tools in TMPGEnc but it still looks the same, any insight would Be greatly appreciated.

    does anyone here know how to answer that queation ? I would like to know too ? what causes checkerboard apperance and how to fix it ? thank you.
