    That plant should be getting more than 21; you should be seeing 28 or better with that 2.5.

    after I serviced the EGR valve I actually started getting better power (especially at low RPM) and mileage... I'm getting about 23 now - still now what I'd expect. I run 87 Octane which is mid-grade here. No way in hell I'm putting that 85 Octane crap in it, but the 91 ("premium" at this altitude) is pricey and usually cuts my mpg down.
    No hot-rodding, this is my daily driver - I generally shift early and keep the RPMs relatively low. I bought it used and I have no idea how the previous owner treated it or serviced it. It had 102K miles on it when I bought it in March 2006, a couple months later I got the big 60K/90K service done on it, but it's never really gotten good mileage.
