    Hi all,

I have noticed that PowerDVD has superior video quality to VLC when it comes to playing DVD's.
Is there any particularly reason for it? Is PowerDVD using filters...or is this sometime to do with the open source codecs from VLC?
I think that media player classic is also superior to VLC.

I use PowerDVD 7 and the latest version of VLC.

You are seeing the difference in the mpeg2 codec that is being used by each program. MPC is likely using the PowerDVD codec.
