  1. I really have no idea what I am looking for, so I will describe the project to this point and then what my instinct tells me:

I am working on a simple on-line ordering form for a professional photographer. The heart of it is that each photo will be displayed larger on its own page. That page contains a simple form with pull downs for quantities and sizes and a box for notes. The collected form data is then emailed to him and he will begin his work on the order. The idea is to allow his customers to order their prints at their convenience.

Presently I have added fields for the customer to include their name, email, phone, etc. so he will know who the order is for.
    Here is an example: http://www.efalkmedia.com/test/0003.html

This works well, but the annoying thing is that for every picture the customer orders they have to continually fill out this form. This is where I need help/advice/etc. Basically he wants to collect the ordering info for each picture but only have tot have the customer fill in their details once.

I am thinking that a shopping cart would be a good solution here and I looked at zen-cart and oSCommerce as possible free solutions, but I don't know if this is more than is what is needed.

He's not interested in doing e-commerce since he deals with the clients personally, but he's not against it either. If pricing can be left out he would be happy. Simpler would be better, but I know things don't always work out that way.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Simple is buying a smugmug pro account for $99/year.
Moderate is using Lightroom with something like TTG gallery, for picking images (do size/etc via email).
Hard is the one-by-one images with multi size options, etc --- annoying, yes.

The "details once" thing is e-commerce software.

Have fun with that -- I hate it.

  3. Thanks LS, you ave confirmed my instincts. Or is it my fears...

This is his first crack at doing anything on-line with his work. He's not one of these old-set-in-his ways types, he's more of a too busy to learn type.

The setting up of each page for the ordering was easy enough, I set up the page and put in the wild cards and let irfanview do the rest. Took 7 minutes to process and create 250 pages.

May be more of a PIA to set it up in a shopping cart's template. Zen-cart seems the most flexible so I will try that one first.

Lifepics is one company that offers the solution he needs but I think they get about $90 a month and I doubt he is prepared to spend that. Will check out Smugmug.

    Cheers.
