Talks with China over censorship have reached an apparent impasse and Google, the world’s largest search engine, is now “99.9 percent” certain to shut its Chinese search engine, the Financial Times said on Saturday.

personally i would like to see all american and european businesses pull out of china, first because of china's well documented track record concerning civil rights but also because china artificially sets the value of it's currency in order to maintain and increase its trade advantage.

hell, i would like to see american and european businesses also pull out of japan, who practice jingoism in setting their trade policies with unfair restrictions placed on imports into their countries.

of course i would also like to see truly open markets where patents, trade secrets and the like don't exist, but we all know it will only get worse, not better.
