Just installed VOB2MPG Pro. Works fine, except that if I double click on a title or chapter in the VOB-mode display, it doesn't play it in the preview window. I am running on a Vista system.

Is this in IFO mode or VOB mode?

The program suddenly decided that it could play the preview after all! However, with DVD control type 2 the picture is distorted. With control type 1 the picture is fine. An additional note of interest is that the preview works only for actual dvds and for dvd images on the C disk, but not for dvd images on external (usb) disks, even though the file conversion runs ok even on the external disk. This is probably another symptom of a bug that was introduced by a recent Microsoft upgrade on 64-bit Vista machines, which makes Windows Media Player unable to play dvd images on external disks - it erroneously thinks they are from the wrong world region. Microsoft claims it's working on a fix, so for the time being I am assuming the problem is not with VOB2MPG.

    Here is the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952154
The description in this article is slightly different from my observation (which is confined to files on an external disk). However, it's sufficiently close to my case that I feel there is a good chance they have the same origin. According to the article there is already a hot-fix, but after a couple of hours on the phone with Microsoft Customer Service I learned that the fix isn't working properly so that they are not distributing it yet. I am not holding my breath, though I consider it a major triumph to have gotten to actually talk to a person at Microsoft!
