  1. Hi I have just joined the forum, and wonder if you could help me?

I have just done some work on my Sony handy cam DCR-SR32E, and it went into the supplied software 'picture motion browser'. I want to transfer it to MovieMaker but when I click on import pictures it starts then stops then I get a message saying

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Pictures\11-03-2010\20100309131222.mpg could not be imported. An interface has too many methods to fire events from,

What does this mean please, and how can I correct it? I want to edit my video to make it look good and not like a road accident, I have Windows XP Home. No jargon please as I am only a beginner. Many thanks.

  2. First off, your movies are not a "picture". So import "picture" is not going to work.

Has the video ALREADY made it's way from your camcorder to your PC (which, if you can play it in PMB, it probably has)? If so, just COPY or open the file on the hard drive DIRECTLY and not via PMB (PictureMotionBrowser).

  3. I can watch it on Picture motion viewer, so I am hoping the pictures are on. When it was uploading from my handy cam it kept stopping and coming up wiyth a message saying the handycam had dumped the information, then promping me to upload again. I now have three folders.

How do I open the file on the hard drive DIRECTLY?

  4. If you can watch it on PMB, then it is "on your hard drive". You should look in those folders you reference for the files you seek.

FYI: If your version of PMB is the same as mine, you can do some minor cut editing and output to DVD directly from it (or, if you have an HD camcorder, a BluRay or AVCHD disc).

I managed to convert the files using a programme called prism video converter. The only problem is now that I can view them in movie maker but it plays silently. How can I correct the sound problem please and get it back?

Also how do I edit video in PMB?

Why are you converting the videos, and what are you converting them to?

Are you sure Prism isn't removing the audio, for any reason?
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
