I have a bunch of vhs tapes that i want to archive and throw them away. I bought a toshiba dvr620 to put them on dvd. In sp mode it burns them at 720x480 and 2 hours on each dvd. ive been using dvd decrypter to rip them to my hard drive. and after that i dont know what to do to put them in a more portable size. I want to play them with my media players. Its a lot of clips recorded from tv so no copyprotection. First i want to know what software to use to convert them. Then what codec to use. Ive been using xvid because i had a dvd that was compatible but i can use any codec. also i want to know if i should use any video filters. I dont care too much about quality but i like to get the best in a portable size of the files.
Any advice??
