  1. Hi all, new here, not sure if posting in the right section, but here's the deal. All of you probably know the EasyCAP method, so I was thinking of something similar but the problem is I don't know if it would work. I have a graphics card with 2 DVI outputs, one is used for monitor, the other one unsued. The method is like this. You get 2 RCA to RCA male cables, then you get 3-Y splitters, the RCA cable with the PS3 plug on the other side and a RCA to DVI female converter(something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DVI-A-MALE-TO-3-RCA-RGB-COMPONENT-VIDEO-FEMALE-ADAPTER_W0QQitemZ...item4834f78104 ) With the first RCA to RCA cable, you connect the RCA to DVI converter and you plug it to your computer. The other side of the RCA cable, you connect 3 Y-Splitters to it. To those 3-Y Splitters, you connect the other RCA to RCA cable and the other part of it to your TV. For the last part, you get the RCA cable with PS3 plug, you connect to Y-Splitters and your PS3. This method is almost the same like the one for EasyCAP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUG2Y0NxXcc With the difference that you dont connect to your USB but to your DVI slot. So, would something like that work? Would I be able to capture my TV on my Windows then? Hope someone will know the answer, thanks!

No. The second DVI-I (DVI-D and VGA pins) on the display card is an output not an input.

  3. What your talking about? I have 2 DVI outputs on my graphics card, both my DVI slots are the same. To my first DVI output, my monitor's DVI input is connected. The other DVI output is free. Using this converter http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DVI-A-MALE-TO-3-RCA-RGB-COMPONENT-VIDEO-FEMALE-ADAPTER_W0QQitemZ...item4834f78104 I could connect the converted RCA to DVI(with a DVI input) to my other free DVI output on my graphics card.

So how does that allow recording on your computer?

That connector would have RGB outputs (VGA without HV sync).

  5. That's what I'm asking you. I mean something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Composite-V-Cable-Kit/dp/B000FALK7W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&...1434230&sr=1-1 Two of those, to one end connect some converter(doesnt have to be the one I gave, any that will work) to my DVI and the other end to y-spliters. The EasyCAP allows windows to capture what's coming from the USB, so I was wondering if it was possible to get what's coming from my other DVI on my windows and record it. After all, my graphics card works with dual monitors, it should work with a monitor and tv is well, but the thing is if I can capture what's coming from the "Monitor 2"(TV) on monitor 1.

What is your capture device for the computer?

You need one of these to capture high def.

The Easycap demo is taking the output of a PS3 (standard def composite) to an easycap and then to a TV.
Idea is to record the PS3 game play on the computer.

Is that what you want to do but in high definition?

Or are you trying to display your computer on your TV? What is the TV model number?

  8. Na I want to do basically the same thing as easycap, record in 576i(as that's the max u get for connecting ps3 using those red, white, yellow cables), but do it by dvi not usb. I want to display the PS3 footage on my TV, and on my monitor on some sort of software, like on my monitor I'll still have my OS running, but on some sort of software, the TV will be displayed and I will record it, the same way easycap allows you to do.

You can't feed a video signal from the PS3 into a DVI output. You will need a capture device similar to the easycap.

You can get internal capture devices (PCI card), or external models that plug into USB or Firewire ports.

  10. That's the answer I was looking for, whenever you can feed signal from ps3 into dvi(without any capture cards), you can't. Thanks for the answer!
