I beleive I have all the right programs installed The latest BD rebuilder, avisynth 258,ffdshow 3301 and a couple of others. Ive been able to back up a couple of my other blu rays for the kids but this one i can't get. any ideas what is ausing the error or how to fix it? I used dvdfab6 and it shrinks it enough and I was able to burn it using imagburn but the volume and picture wernt in sync.
    Thanks for any help.

I had the same VC-1 error with one of my blurays- the suggestions I found were to make sure ffdshow was set to wmv9 under the video decoder configuration for VC-1- that still didn't do it for me. Finally, I let AVCHDCoder install the programs BDRB needed- that finally got it working (not sure why).

Maybe someone else will have a better solution (ok, most likely someone else will have a better solution ) but here's what I do now to troubleshoot stuff like that - I start AVCHDCoder and run Tools>check system configuration. If it fails one of the three codecs, I know BDRB will choke on the same one. Then it's a case of trying to find the problem- but at least I know when it's fixed.

  5. It would be helpful if you filled in your computer details. Anyway, the BDRB log indicates your OS is Win7, which seems to be particularly touchy about proper configuration for VC-1 encoding.

There have been a number of threads the last few months about problems similar to yours. I've often advocated installing the versions of ffdshow, Haali, and AviSynth that jdobbs (the author of BDRB), has tested. Do *NOT* use an X64 ffdshow build. You can find the tested versions on the first page of the BDRB bug report thread at Doom9. Just click BDRB in this thread and click on download from author's site. BTW, jdobbs has a recent entry in BDRB reviews saying essentially the same thing. He's getting tired of "bug reports" that come down to people installing "latest" tool versions willy-nilly. UNTESTED versions.

And if you installed a codec pack, uninstall it and hope you don't have to resort to a format/re-install.

Anyway, the suggestion that one could use AVCHDCoder to configure one's system is okay. The program does have a nice configuration testing tool, and the tool versions it installs appear to be okay. (I've tested them, but then again, I'm on XP).

    Good luck.

[EDIT] I recently tested the Blu-Ray re-encoding in DVDFab and it's utter crap. Audio/video async is just one of its problems.
