Video processing is not really part of my background. Maybe ffmpegx is too smart for me.
I'm trying to convert video (for nearly any format, dv avi mp4 mov) into flv so that it can be played on our company website (Wordpress plugin).

I've succeeded doing this using ffmpegx once. I have failed every time since then, and I'm stumped. The video "converts" instantly, and the new file is unusable. I've even tried uninstalling and re-installing to no avail.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? Is there a step I'm skipping?
What other shareware programs are available?

Try other ffmpeg frontends/converters like datura.

You could also see if the wordpress plugin supports mp4 h264 video(it is supported by flash), then can you convert your video to mp4 h264 using for example handbrake, mpeg streamclip or avidemux.

FLV Encoder is free and does some of your input formats.
